Chiran is a seasoned space technology leader with extensive experience in Indian space programs, including the Gaganyaan human spaceflight initiative at ISRO. He holds a Master’s degree from IIT Kanpur and a Ph.D. from IIT Madras. As Deputy Project Director for Gaganyaan, he collaborated with international space agencies such as CNES (France), ROSCOSMOS (Russia), ESA (Germany), MBRSC (Dubai), and KARI (South Korea). A recognized expert in space sustainability and orbital debris mitigation, Chiran has represented India at the IADC – Interagency Space Debris Coordination Committee, advocating global solutions for safe and sustainable space operations.
